ABOUT PI CHAPTER

Pi chapter was founded at the State University of New York, New Paltz on December 5, 1993 by Hermanos Bernardo F. Perez and Héctor Morell. Pi Chapter was established as the 15th undergraduate chapter of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity,
and gained chapter recognition in 1995.

Hermano Maximo 'Vasi'Kolla' Guillen, your graduation and the attainment of your Bachelor's Degree in Communications: Public Relations fills us with an overwhelming sense of pride and happiness. 🎓🙌 The dedication, perseverance, and passion you have displayed throughout your academic journey are truly inspiring.

As you step into the next chapter of your life, embarking on new adventures and pursuing your dreams, we wish you nothing but the best. May every opportunity you encounter be met with success, and may you continue to shine brightly, leaving your mark on the world.

Remember Hermano, that the bonds of brotherhood we share are unbreakable. La Unidad we hold dear will forever be a guiding force in your life. On April 29, 2023, our Hermandad learned of the passing of our beloved Hermano, Angel-Ariel Casas (Alpha, Spring 2012)

Angel was well known not only in our fraternity but throughout the Latino community for his drive, dedication and passion for fitness and wellness. As a professional body builder and impactful personal trainer, he influenced and changed the lives of many. He continuously shared his fitness journey and wisdom to inspire others to be their best selves and to live life healthy and happy.

Angel was a successful business owner with his company Bodies By Angel, LLC, where he coached many people on their journey of wellness and fitness. Angel was also an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist, Precision Nutrition Certified, and an NPC Classic Physique Competitor.

With all that was going on in 2020, Angel shared with us again his personal journey as a cancer survivor. That year, he was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic testicular cancer that spread to 3 major organs. His journey was not easy but he took it on the challenge with optimism and determination. Angel continued to be an inspiration to so many of us as we supported him through his journey process.

Angel's spirit will forever live in our hearts and in our Hermandad as an inductee into our Pi Sigma Chapter, where our Heavenly Hermanos who are no longer with us await to grip him and welcome him home.
We are still in disbelief, Hermano, but we will always honor your life and impact. As you journey home to join our Heavenly Hermanos, you will continue to live in vour hearts and we will lift up vour name and spirit...Para Siempre. Que en Paz Descanse!

February 20 has been officially designated our National Day of Remembrance to honor and remember the lives of our beloved Hermanos who made their heavenly transition. We must remember that the continued growth and success of our fraternity is thanks to the strength, courage, and endless contributions of all Hermanos, living and deceased, which is also why we observe NDOR the day after Founders Day.

In addition, we would like to unveil with all our Hermans, familia, friends, and followers our "Pi Sigma" Chapter. The Pi Sigma Chapter is officially designated for Deceased Hermans and is a nod to our Fraternidad's motto- La Unidad Para Siempre" as we will always honor and remember the life and legacy of our Hermanos!
